About
Hilas Thermal Resort & Spa is a thermal hotel in the Hamamayağı neighbourhood of Samsun's Ladik district, on the foothills of Akdağ. The resort uses the water of the Hamamayağı Kaplıcası (Hamamayağı hot spring), which Evliya Çelebi called the "Water of Youth" in his Seyahatname (Book of Travels). The hotel opened in 2018 and its aquapark in 2020.
The indoor thermal pools are open all year round; according to the hotel, the pools are designed so that the water is never deeper than standing height, and a swimming cap must be worn in them. In summer, the aquapark is open in a tree-lined outdoor area with swimming pools, a lazy river and water slides. According to resort information shared by tour operators, the hammam and sauna sections are separate for women and men; the hotel also offers private family baths.
The spa menu includes kese (exfoliating scrub) and foam massage in the Turkish bath, Balinese, classic and hot stone massages, Balinese foot massage, body treatments and scrubs; there is also a doctor fish treatment. Rooms come in Deluxe, Superior and King categories and as suites with a kurna (marble basin), and there are also rooms suitable for guests with disabilities. A restaurant, gym, children's playroom, meeting room, private car park and electric vehicle charging station are among the resort's other facilities.
With its thermal pools, aquapark and children's playroom, the resort particularly appeals to families. Spa treatments can be booked via the form on the hotel's website or by phone; day-use conditions should be checked with the hotel in advance.
