The recommended order is based on rating and number of reviews, and on how complete and up to date a listing is. A paid membership does not change the order.
Professional skin care is widely offered in Istanbul at both spas and beauty salons. The venues listed in this guide are spread across districts such as Bahçelievler, Bağcılar, Zeytinburnu, Başakşehir, Şişli, Küçükçekmece and Ataşehir.
The treatment depends on your skin type: Different products and steps are used for oily, dry, combination, sensitive and mature skin. A good treatment starts with a skin analysis; if the menu has a one-size-fits-all "skin care" treatment, ask which products are used.
Timing: Because of the skin's renewal cycle, a treatment every 4-6 weeks is recommended. If you are having one before a special occasion, plan it at least 7-10 days ahead — there may be temporary redness and flaking afterwards.
An important limit: Skin care is not a dermatology service. For cystic acne, rosacea, psoriasis, eczema and suspicious moles, see a dermatologist. If you are on a treatment such as isotretinoin, treatments involving peels and extractions are not advisable.
