Tarihi Çeşme Hamamı

Tarihi Çeşme Hamamı is part of The Galata Istanbul Hotel MGallery on Bankalar Caddesi, in the Karaköy area of Beyoğlu. The hammam was commissioned in the 1720s, during the Tulip Era, by Grand Admiral Kaymak (Atlamacı) Mustafa Pasha; shortly afterwards the pasha was executed in the Patrona Halil Revolt, which brought the Tulip Era to an end. The building was restored in 2017, preserving its original fabric.
The 800-square-metre hammam and spa area includes, alongside the historic hammam, a two-storey relaxation area decorated with Ottoman motifs, single massage rooms, a VIP double massage room with jacuzzi, a sauna, a steam room and a fitness area. The hammam rituals, lasting 30 to 70 minutes, add a calendula scrub, a clay face and body mask and a hair wash to the kese (exfoliating scrub) and foam massage.
Massage options include Balinese, deep tissue, Thai, classic and aromatherapy massage, as well as short treatments focusing on the head, neck, back or feet; a short facial is also offered. The packages combine a hammam ritual with a massage, and the most comprehensive also includes use of the VIP room. During the kese and foam wash, the hammam is reserved for just the guest or couple, and the treatments are given by female therapists. As up to eight people can be served at once, celebrations such as bride's and groom's hammam parties are also organised.
The hammam is open every day, 08:00–24:00. Appointments and information are available by phone, WhatsApp or email; closing the whole area for a private event is priced separately.
