If you are looking for a women-only hammam in Istanbul, there are two kinds of option: double hammams, with two separate sections for women and men, and hammams that divide their single section into women's and men's hours during the day. On the historic peninsula, the Çemberlitaş, Cağaloğlu, Ayasofya Hürrem Sultan, Zeyrek Çinili, Mihrimah Sultan and Kadırga hammams have separate women's sections. Kılıç Ali Paşa Hamamı in Tophane, meanwhile, admits women every day between 08:00 and 16:00.
We compiled the hours and prices below from the hammams' own websites on 23 September 2026, and updated Kılıç Ali Paşa's prices on 13 October 2026. Hours may change with the season; call the hammam before you go.

Double hammam or women's hours?
A double hammam has separate entrances, changing rooms and hot rooms for women and men in the same building. You can go at any time while the women's section is open. At Cağaloğlu the division is visible even from the street: the door to the women's section is on Hamam Sokağı, the side street, and the men's is on the main road. At Hürrem Sultan, the two sections are laid out along the same axis as mirror images of each other.
Hammams that divide by hours have a single section. Kılıç Ali Paşa Hamamı is open to women from 08:00 to 16:00 and to men from 16:45 to 23:30. If you are thinking of going after work, look at the double hammams for the evening.
A mixed hammam is the exception. Süleymaniye Hamamı is known as a hammam that admits women and men together and is popular with couples and families. If you want a setting with only women, it is not for you.
Women's sections, hammam by hammam
Çemberlitaş Hamamı
This double hammam, commissioned by Nurbanu Sultan and dated 1584, is at Vezirhan Caddesi No: 8, a few minutes from the Çemberlitaş stop on the T1 tram. The hammam's website states clearly that the women's and men's sections are separate and that guests are attended by staff of the same sex. Towels, soap, shampoo and slippers are included in the price. Extra services for women are listed too: face mask 700 TL (€12), manicure 1,000 TL (€18), pedicure 1,150 TL (€20). Waxing is offered to women only; you need to ask for the price.
Cağaloğlu Hamamı
It was built as a double hammam in 1741, in the reign of Mahmud I. The address is Alemdar Mahallesi, Prof. Kazım İsmail Gürkan Caddesi No: 34. The website gives the hours as Monday-Thursday 09:00-22:00 and Friday-Sunday 09:00-23:00, but the same page also carries a notice of 11:00-21:00 for the winter period. Confirm the women's section's hours for the day by phone. Packages are sold in euros, from €95 to €400.
Ayasofya Hürrem Sultan Hamamı
Built by Mimar Sinan in 1556-1557 between Ayasofya (Hagia Sophia) and the Sultanahmet Mosque, the hammam is open daily from 08:00 to 22:00. Its website has a separate page on hammam care for women; peshtemal, slippers and bath products are included. Rituals are priced by length: 45 minutes €110, 60 minutes €155, 80 minutes €220, 110 minutes €300. Contact details are on the Hürrem Sultan Hamamı profile.
Zeyrek Çinili Hamam
This Mimar Sinan hammam serves women and men in separate areas. It is open Tuesday to Sunday from 08:00 to 22:00 and closed on Mondays; the recommended latest booking time is 20:30. Including bathing and resting, a visit takes about 90 minutes. The Bireysel Hamam (individual hammam), in which you wash yourself with a single-use kese, costs €80; the Klasik Hamam (classic hammam) with kese and foam wash (50 min) costs €125.
Mihrimah Sultan Hamamı
The hammam of the Mihrimah Sultan complex in Edirnekapı was built by Mimar Sinan in the 1560s. The address is Fevzipaşa Caddesi No: 333, Karagümrük. The women's section is open daily 09:00-20:00 and the men's section 07:00-23:00. The sections are completely separate, and the women's section is staffed by women. No appointment is needed, but as weekends and evenings are busy they recommend calling ahead. The website says prices vary by section; ask for the women's section price by phone.
Kadırga Hamamı
At this hammam on Kadırga Limanı Caddesi No: 69, the women's section is open 08:30-21:00 and the men's section 07:00-22:00. Prices are the same for both sections: hammam only 1,100 TL, kese 250 TL, foam massage 250 TL, short oil massage 400 TL. Of the hammams that publish a women's section price, this is the most affordable.
Kılıç Ali Paşa Hamamı
The hammam in Tophane has a single section: women go in daily from 08:00 to 16:00, men from 16:45 to 23:30. The traditional hammam ritual with kese and foam wash costs 4,700 TL including VAT. The hammam recommends booking a week ahead and asks for at least 48 hours' notice of cancellation. There is a 5% discount for paying in cash.
Galatasaray Hamamı
Commissioned by Bayezid II in 1481, the hammam is at Turnacıbaşı Caddesi No: 8 and is open 09:00-21:00. Its online booking form asks for the number of women and men guests separately. However, the website does not say whether women bathe in a separate section or at separate hours; ask about this when you book. Details are on the Galatasaray Hamamı profile.
For women going for the first time
Who is the natır? The female attendant who does the kese and foam wash in the women's section is called a natır; her counterpart in the men's section is the tellak. Çemberlitaş and Mihrimah Sultan state clearly on their websites that the service is given by female staff. At the other hammams, ask when you book.
What is included? At Çemberlitaş, Hürrem Sultan, Mihrimah Sultan and Galatasaray, the hammam provides the peshtemal, towel and slippers. The real difference lies in the kese and foam wash. At Çemberlitaş the cheapest option is entry without kese, while at Zeyrek the cheapest package has you do the kese yourself. If you want an attendant to do the kese, you need to move up to a higher package. At Kadırga, kese and foam wash are charged separately.
What to wear? The hammam provides the peshtemal, and you can wear a bikini or swimsuit underneath. Çemberlitaş leaves it up to you whether to bring a swimsuit; Mihrimah Sultan and Galatasaray recommend bringing a bikini or swimsuit and spare underwear. At Galatasaray you do not go fully naked; the body is covered with the peshtemal from the waist down. For more, see our article on what to wear in a hammam.
Periods and pregnancy. Galatasaray does not serve guests who are pregnant or on their period. Zeyrek Çinili Hamam does not recommend the hammam during pregnancy. Ask about the other hammams' rules when you book, and plan your appointment accordingly.
Photos. Even in a separate section, there will be other women in the hot room. At Zeyrek, photos and video may be taken only in the cooling room, without getting other people in the frame. If you do not know the rule, leave your phone in the locker.
Going with children. At Kılıç Ali Paşa, ages 4-12 pay 3,000 TL (13 October 2026) and ages 0-3 go free. At Zeyrek, children aged 6-11 can join the Miniklere Hamam children's package (€80) with the parent of the same sex, meaning girls with their mothers; ages 0-5 go free.
Hammams that host bridal hammam parties
Çemberlitaş organises bridal hammam parties with or without a food menu and asks you to fix the date and time in advance. Cağaloğlu prices bridal hammams on request. Hürrem Sultan lists a bridal party in its events section. At Zeyrek Çinili Hamam, you need to speak to the team about a bridal hammam. You can find other venues offering a bridal hammam on the bridal package page.
