The recommended order is based on rating and number of reviews, and on how complete and up to date a listing is. A paid membership does not change the order.
Istanbul is the city with the widest choice of spas and hammams in Turkey. Ottoman hammams on the historic peninsula, hotel spas along the Bosphorus and massage salons tucked away in residential neighbourhoods offer very different experiences within the same city.
Around Fatih, Eminönü and Beyoğlu, hammams that have been in service for centuries offer kese (exfoliating scrub) and foam massage in their original architecture. Most have separate women's and men's sections; some also allow mixed use with a booking. First-timers can read up beforehand on how to use a hammam.
The spa areas of city hotels in Beşiktaş, Şişli and Sarıyer offer a hammam, sauna, steam room and indoor pool in one place. Many also welcome guests who are not staying at the hotel, with a day pass or a massage package. On the Asian side, Kadıköy, Ataşehir and Üsküdar have similar options.
Centres offering medical massage, anti-stress massage and reflexology as well as classic and aromatherapy massage can be found in every part of the city. You can filter the listed venues by district, service, price and rating, and find each one's price list, reviews and directions on its page.
